Fat Biking

Fat Biking is expanding and extending our biking season into winter!

Not only will Silver Star be grooming their trails with a Snowdog trail groomer, we will now have packed trails in Kal Park!

After many winters of attempting to groom trails at Kal and Ellison Park, we decided that the NOCS Snowdog was not the right tool for the job due to the challenging terrain and weather/snow conditions so we sold the Snowdog to Silverstar. But the fat biking community was not to be deterred in its dream of winter fat biking in our parks. After extensive research, NOCS has purchased a Rokon two wheel drive ORV to help pack the trails in the winter.

The Rokon will also be incredibly useful in accessing trails throughout the year for tree clearing and trail maintenance. For any of you have have pedaled or hiked kilometers carrying a chainsaw to clear one tree, or carrying tools to work on one short section of trail, you'll know how useful the Rokon will be.
